Shelving & Storage Products – Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply only to the Industrial Shelving & Storage section of the Shrewd Industrial Ltd website in relation to the sale of shelving, racking, and any associated products (“Products”) supplied by Shrewd Industrial Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By placing an order, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use this section of the website or place an order.
1. General
1.1 These Terms govern all contracts for the supply of shelving and storage products by Shrewd Industrial Ltd, unless otherwise agreed in writing by a director or authorised officer of the company.
1.2 Any terms proposed by the customer, whether stated in an order, correspondence, or otherwise, shall not apply unless expressly accepted by us in writing.
1.3 Descriptions, illustrations, specifications, and technical information provided on our website, brochures, or catalogues are intended as general guidance only and do not form part of any contract.
1.4 All warranties, conditions, or representations not expressly stated in these Terms, whether implied by statute or common law, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
2. Orders
2.1 All orders are subject to availability and written acceptance by Shrewd Industrial Ltd. Any quotation, estimate, or verbal indication of supply is non-binding until confirmed in writing.
2.2 Certain products may be subject to limited availability and supplied on a first-come, first-served basis.
2.3 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order prior to dispatch without liability.
3. Prices
3.1 Prices displayed in catalogues, online, or in promotional material are indicative only and may be amended at any time prior to order acceptance.
3.2 We reserve the right to adjust prices to reflect increases or decreases in costs incurred between quotation and delivery.
3.3 All prices are exclusive of VAT, which will be charged at the applicable rate.
4. Product Specification
4.1 We act as a distributor of shelving and storage products and rely on information provided by manufacturers.
4.2 Specifications, dimensions, finishes, and load ratings may be altered by the manufacturer without notice.
4.3 Shrewd Industrial Ltd shall not be responsible for any consequences arising from changes to product specification or supply shortages beyond our control.
5. Delivery
5.1 Delivery dates and times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Time shall not be of the essence.
5.2 Delays in delivery do not entitle the customer to cancel the order or claim compensation.
5.3 Delivery charges are not necessarily included and depend upon the delivery location / postcode as per the “Delivery Zone Area” details clearly displayed on the main Shelving & Storage page of the website. Any relevant delivery charge to complete customer orders will be communicated by Shrewd Industrial Ltd as necessary upon receipt of any order that falls in to chargeable delivery areas or postcodes in accordance with rates applicable at the time of order.
5.4 We reserve the right to make partial deliveries. Requests to delay or split deliveries may incur additional charges, including storage and handling.
5.5 The customer must inspect all goods immediately upon delivery or collection and notify us of any issues within the timeframes set out in clause 11.
6. Payment
6.1 Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is required prior to dispatch or against a pro-forma invoice.
6.2 The customer shall not withhold payment or exercise any right of set-off.
6.3 Late payments may be subject to interest at a rate of 2% per month (or part thereof) until payment is received.
7. Force Majeure
7.1 We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to supply chain disruption, manufacturer issues, labour disputes, or regulatory changes.
8. Insolvency
8.1 If the customer becomes insolvent, enters into arrangements with creditors, or has a receiver or liquidator appointed, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries and require immediate payment for all goods supplied and ordered.
9. Title and Risk
9.1 Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery or collection, whichever occurs first.
9.2 Legal and beneficial ownership of the goods remains with Shrewd Industrial Ltd until payment has been received in full.
9.3 Until title passes, the customer must store the goods securely, clearly identified as our property, and free from any charge or encumbrance.
9.4 We reserve the right to inspect goods and records relating to goods supplied under this clause.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business, or use.
11. Returns and Acceptance
11.1 Goods shall be deemed accepted unless rejected within 72 hours of delivery or collection.
11.2 Rejection must be notified in writing, clearly stating the reason.
11.3 Incorrectly ordered goods may be accepted for return at our sole discretion and may be subject to:
- a restocking charge of up to 15% of the net order value; and
- recovery of any delivery or collection costs.
11.4 Custom-made, modified, or non-stock items are non-returnable unless faulty.
12. Return Procedure
12.1 Before returning any goods, the customer must notify Shrewd Industrial Ltd by email or in writing and obtain confirmation.
12.2 Returned goods must be suitably packaged and received in the same condition as supplied. Any reduction in resale value may be deducted from any credit issued.
13. Non-Delivery
13.1 Any claim for non-delivery must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the invoice date.
14. Governing Law
14.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Water Storage Solutions – Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to the Water Storage Solutions section of the Shrewd Industrial Ltd website, including but not limited to water storage tanks, rainwater harvesting systems, slimline tanks, decorative and ornamental water butts, pump systems, filters, fittings, accessories and related products.
By accessing this section of the website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use this section of the website or place an order.
1. About Us
“Shrewd Industrial Ltd”, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to Shrewd Industrial Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
2. Scope and Contract Hierarchy
2.1 These Terms apply to all water storage-related products supplied via our website.
2.2 Some products are fulfilled directly by third-party manufacturers or suppliers.
2.3 Where supplier-specific terms apply, these will take precedence over general Terms for that product category.
2.4 These Terms apply to both business and consumer customers where applicable.
3. Definitions
Goods – All water storage tanks, rainwater harvesting systems, slimline tanks, decorative water butts, pumps, filters, fittings and accessories.
Customer – Any individual or organisation placing an Order.
Order – A request to purchase Goods.
Supplier / Manufacturer – Third-party fulfilment partner.
4. Orders and Contract Formation
4.1 Product listings are invitations to treat and not binding offers.
4.2 An Order is an offer to purchase Goods.
4.3 A binding contract is formed only upon written confirmation or invoice issuance.
4.4 We may refuse or cancel any Order.
4.5 Prices are not confirmed until order acceptance.
5. Product Information & Suitability
5.1 Product information is for guidance only.
5.2 Customers are responsible for ensuring suitability for their intended use.
5.3 Variations in colour, finish, fittings, and dimensions may occur.
5.4 Decorative products may vary significantly in appearance.
5.5 Installation responsibility lies with the Customer.
6. Pricing & Payment
6.1 Prices are in GBP.
6.2 VAT applies where relevant.
6.3 Delivery charges apply unless stated otherwise.
6.4 Prices may change without notice until confirmed.
7. Availability & Lead Times
7.1 Stock is subject to supplier availability.
7.2 Delivery times are estimates only unless expressly confirmed.
7.3 Lead times vary by product type and supplier.
7.4 We are not liable for delays outside our control.
8. General Delivery Terms (All Products)
8.1 Delivery is kerbside or courier drop-off unless otherwise agreed.
8.2 The Customer must ensure suitable access and unloading arrangements.
8.3 Risk passes upon physical delivery to the delivery address.
8.4 Delivery may be signed for by any person reasonably believed to be authorised.
8.5 Delivery dates are estimates only.
8.6 Damage or shortages must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
8.7 Failed deliveries due to incorrect details or access issues may incur charges.
9. Supplier-specific Delivery Terms (Large Single Water Storage Tanks Only – 5,000+ Litres)
This section applies only to large water storage tanks and related accessories supplied via third-party Manufacturer. It does not apply to 1,500 litre water tanks, slimline tanks, slimline rainwater harvesting systems or decorative / ornamental water butts and any associated accessories.
9.1 Order acceptance
A contract is formed only upon written confirmation or invoice issuance. If an order is not accepted, refunds will be issued within 14 calendar days.
9.2 Delivery timescales
Delivery is normally within 30 calendar days of order acknowledgement, but all dates are estimates only.
9.3 Delivery method
Delivery is via pallet or specialist carrier, kerbside or tail-lift only.
9.4 Access responsibility
Customer must ensure suitable access and unloading capability. Failed deliveries may incur charges.
9.5 Risk transfer
Risk passes upon physical delivery.
9.6 Delivery areas and charges
Standard UK mainland delivery may be included. Non-standard areas may incur additional charges.
9.7 Delays outside control
We are not liable for delays caused by manufacturers, carriers, or supply chain disruption.
10. Title To Goods
Ownership remains with Shrewd Industrial Ltd until full payment is received.
11. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations (General)
11.1 Made-to-order or bespoke Goods cannot be cancelled once production begins.
11.2 Standard stock items may only be returned with prior approval.
11.3 Goods must be unused and in original condition.
11.4 Restocking and collection charges may apply.
11.5 Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
12. Consumer Cancellation Rights
12.1 Consumers may cancel within 14 days of delivery unless exempt.
12.2 Exemptions include bespoke, made-to-order or custom products.
12.3 Returns must be notified in writing.
12.4 Customers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise required by law.
13. Supplier-specific Returns & Refunds (Large Water Storage Tanks – 5,000+ Litres)
This section applies only to large water storage tanks and associated products supplied via third party manufacturer.
13.1 Incorrect goods supplied
If incorrect Goods are delivered, Customers must notify us within 14 calendar days.
- Collection arranged at no cost
- Refund or replacement offered
- Standard delivery refunded (express delivery not refundable)
- Goods must be returned in original condition
13.2 Transit damage
Customers must notify us within 2 working days of delivery.
- Customer should reject delivery where possible or note damage
- Collection arranged at our cost
- Replacement or refund available
- Standard delivery costs refunded only
13.3 Fault on delivery
Faults identified on delivery must be reported within 14 calendar days.
- Collection arranged at no cost
- Replacement or refund available
- Refunds processed within 14–30 days of return
13.4 Faults within 21 days
If a fault occurs within 21 calendar days of delivery:
- Replacement only (no refund unless agreed)
- Goods must be returned for inspection
- If no fault is found or misuse is identified, costs may be charged including:
- Return shipping
- Inspection at £15 per hour
13.5 Warranty claims
After 21 days, faults are handled under manufacturer warranty terms. Customers may need to deal directly with the manufacturer.
13.6 Returns condition
Returned Goods must be:
- Unused and uninstalled
- Complete with all components
- Not modified or damaged
Opening packaging does not invalidate return eligibility unless use exceeds reasonable inspection.
13.7 Cooling-off period (consumers)
Consumers may cancel within 14 days of delivery.
- Return shipping is customer responsibility
- Refunds processed within 14 days of cancellation notice
Exclusions apply to bespoke or made-to-order items.
14. Warranties
Manufacturer warranties apply where provided. Claims may require evidence and inspection.
15. Intellectual Property
All content remains property of Shrewd Industrial Ltd or licensors.
16. Third-party Content
Some product data and images are provided by manufacturers.
17. Website Use
Misuse or unauthorised access is prohibited.
18. Limitation Of Liability
18.1 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
18.2 We are not liable for installation errors or misuse.
18.3 Liability is limited to the value of Goods supplied.
19. International Orders
19.1 Customers are responsible for customs duties and taxes.
19.2 Customers act as importer of record.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Workbench Products – Terms & Conditions
1. Delivery
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, deliveries are made to a kerbside location during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.
Delivery dates provided by Shrewd Industrial Ltd are estimates only. Whilst every reasonable effort will be made to meet estimated delivery dates, delays can occur due to manufacturing schedules, transport issues or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Time shall not be of the essence unless expressly agreed in writing.
Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery.
2. Payment
Payment in full is required before any order is placed with our supplier unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing by Shrewd Industrial Ltd.
Orders will not be processed until cleared funds have been received.
Title to the goods remains with Shrewd Industrial Ltd until payment has been received in full.
3. Special Order Products
Many of the products supplied by Shrewd Industrial Ltd are manufactured to order by our approved suppliers.
Orders for made-to-order, customised or non-stock products cannot normally be cancelled or amended once they have been accepted for manufacture.
4. Returns
If you wish to return goods, you must contact Shrewd Industrial Ltd before returning any items.
Returns are subject to approval and must comply with the return policy of the relevant manufacturer or supplier.
Products manufactured to order or customised to customer requirements are generally non-returnable unless they are faulty, damaged in transit or supplied incorrectly.
Where a return is accepted for standard stock items, a restocking charge and collection costs may apply. Any such charges will be advised before the return is authorised.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
5. Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Goods
Customers should inspect goods as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.
Any visible damage should be noted on the delivery documentation where possible and reported to Shrewd Industrial Ltd without delay.
Claims for damaged, missing or incorrectly supplied goods should normally be made within two working days of delivery to enable us to investigate with the manufacturer and carrier.
Where responsibility is accepted, replacement goods or missing items will be arranged as soon as reasonably practicable.
6. Refused Deliveries
Where delivery is refused for reasons other than damage or an error by Shrewd Industrial Ltd or the manufacturer, any additional delivery, storage or re-delivery charges incurred may be payable by the customer.
7. Product Information
Product images, dimensions and specifications are based on information provided by the manufacturer and are believed to be accurate at the time of publication.
Manufacturers may amend specifications, finishes or designs without prior notice. Such changes will not normally constitute grounds for cancellation provided the product remains substantially the same in quality and function.
8. Colour Matching
Where products are supplied in specified RAL colours or other finishes, slight variations between production batches may occur and do not constitute a manufacturing defect.
9. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, Shrewd Industrial Ltd’s liability shall not exceed the value of the goods supplied under the relevant order.
Shrewd Industrial Ltd shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses where such exclusion is permitted by law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
